I'm hoping to bring you a few posts with suggestions of places to visit and events for the forthcoming summer months. We have a few visits planned and I've heard of a few more that might solve that 'where shall we go at the weekend' dilemma.

The first is a series of events that I've been invited to in Ormskirk. I'm a big fan of vintage, I love a good root around an antiques fair, charity shop or fleamarket and am always excited by my finds. Ormskirk Vintage Fair is an event which will take place monthly throughout the Summer. The first event was held on May 30th but this will be followed by events on 30th June, 28th July and August Bank Holiday. Over 40 stall holders will exhibit, selling a huge range of handmade and artisan goods. There will also be a series of live entertainment including performances from local bands and poets. A number of workshops and demonstrations will be offered including lace making, crochet and calligraphy.

Ormskirk Vintage Fair

The town of Ormskirk has been hit by the recession in recent years but, following a review by 'Queen of Shops' Mary Portas the town has come up with the idea of the Vintage Fair to encourage visitors into the centre of the town. Situated in Lancashire, within an easy car journey of Bolton, Wigan, Manchester, Liverpool and Preston, Ormskirk and the Vintage Fairs will offer a unique, and unusual visitor experience

Sadly I don't think we're going to make it to one of the Vintage Fairs this Summer, we have a busy few months ahead. I'm hoping that one of you lovely readers will do so then come back and tell me all about it!
